NEVER EVER GROW UP
A huge, huge thank you to everyone that came out to support my first show this past Saturday at Haus of Godspeed in Oakland. I couldn't have asked for a better turnout. The support from friends, family and the community is overwhelming. This night could not have been possible without the help of friends and family, especially everyone that helped with the food, drinks, merchandise and just making sure the night went smoothly. I am incredibly blessed. Thank you.
The night got off to a hot start...literally.
I pleaded with Bev to save some for everyone else, but she insisted on finishing this entire platter of Italian Cheese Bread by herself... hella selfish.
Family.
"What'chu know about this here cracker n cheese?! Hold up - gotta scratch my butt. FISHLIPS!!"
My brother telling my nephews the story behind the "Old Johnny" piece. More on that later. It's a good story.
"Don't ever let me see you looking at my cookie like that again."
My favorite Twitter account.
I have the best parents in the world. These aren't them. They're just a random couple I met that night... Just kidding! These are my parents and they are the best parents in the world!
These beautiful ladies were two big reasons why I had zero worries the whole night. Thank you!
I overheard this entire conversation. It went exactly like this:"So I was like, 'Whaaaaaaaaaat?'"...
"And then she was like, 'Oh heeeeell nah!'"...
"And then I was like 'deuces'".
And then Jon was like "double deuces!"
Mike flew out all the way from Pittsburgh just for my show! Not really, but so happy he had a layover on his way to Hawaii. Glad you could make it!
Sold my first painting!
A highlight of the night for me, as well as a common theme throughout, was the reconnection of old friends and realizing how small this world really is. Monica was Gelo's Confirmation student back in the day. The best part of events like this is simply bringing people together.
I was trying to find a nice photo of me and my wife together so I could write a really touching thank you to her for all of her love and support... but this will do. I love my wife to death. She's 9 months pregnant and wore heels as high as this stack of beer cans. hashtag love.
Best DJ in the world right here.
Do you see it?
I can't say it enough. Best team ever. Cannot thank each and every one of you enough. This night wouldn't have been possible without you all.(Missing Lynda and Jeff)
