BEER FISHIN

A while back, my brother-in-law, Jameson, asked me to come up with a custom FATKID iPhone case for him. So, I wanted to create something that had some kind of meaning to him. He's an avid fisherman and loves his Husky Niko. So I went back to one of the simplest and purest relationships in life: a boy and his dog. So I created the original Beer Fishin sketch with the iPhone case in mind, but I felt like there was more to the story of the beer fishin boy and his dog.I had always heard the stories about the 8 foot, beer guzzling goldfish, swimming in the frigid waters of Lake Michigan. There were whispers that the 8 foot goldfish had swallowed a 6 year old boy whole. Many discarded that story, but instead said that the 8 foot goldfish breached out of the water one day, pulling a boy and his dog up into the sky, never to come back down. They just kept going and going, further into the clouds, until they could no longer be seen by anyone. Myth or truth?Beer Fishin. 16" x 40" (diptych). Acrylic on canvas.
