NOT QUITE THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH

This painting is deeply inspired by my 31st birthday. A simple night of playing basketball turned into drinks afterwards at BJ's Restaurant which turned into bottles back at my place which turned into a not so very happy workday the following morning. At the time, 2 of my wife's cousins worked with me and were desperately trying to take me out for lunch. I was so hungover I kept denying their invites. All I wanted to do on my lunch hour was sleep. Little did I know my wife had organized a surprise lunch nearby with close family and friends. They finally got me to come with them by saying they had to give me a birthday present and it would only take 5 minutes. I was so mad because I was thinking it was 5 minutes of sleep that I was missing out on. In the end, I was pleasantly surprised by the lunch, still hungover and sleep deprived, but at least I gained a nice idea for a painting.Quick note on this painting: The original sketch only had one bottle of Ciroc.
