FATHERS DAY IN JULY
One of the things I've noticed about parenthood is how easy it is to get behind on simple daily tasks. Things like checking the mail, doing the dishes, laundry, etc... After a while things can start to pile up. You're just too tired or you simply don't have the time. Well, I guess that doesn't just go for simple tasks. It can happen with the bigger things as well. In the case of Father's Day, Jenna wanted to take me out for a nice relaxing day at the beach. We finally got around to it one month after Father's Day. Better late than never. We spent the day in Santa Cruz, and it started with a nice drive through the 17 with zero traffic.
We ate a late breakfast at Cafe Brasil. I highly recommend the Acai Bowl. Liam loved it. Well, it involved eating so of course Liam loved it.
After breakfast we picked up a sandwich and some snacks at Zoccoli's downtown, then headed to Natural Bridges. Yes, after eating breakfast, we immediately ate lunch. Don't judge.
The water was a bit cold for Liam, but you could tell he still enjoyed feeling it on his feet. I love to see the awe in his eyes when he's in the presence of something as vast as the ocean.
They were looking at a beached whale. No, no they weren't. It was actually a kite surfer that crashed into a surfer... No, no it wasn't. He actually crashed into a jetskier..... No...no he didn't.... They were just looking at the ocean.
One step at a time...
Happiness personified.

Looking into the future.
When we got back to our blanket there was bird poop on it. I'm not pointing any fingers, buuuut... this guy looks kinda guilty.Thank you Jenna and Liam for a wonderful Father's Day in July. Never ever grow up!- Dru
