LIAM GOES TO DISNEYLAND

[Jenna and I recently took Liam to Disneyland for the first time. The following is a letter I'd imagine Liam would write to us if - you know - he could outwardly express his thoughts and emotions and if he knew how to write and if he knew how to formulate full and complete sentences.]Dear Mommy and Daddy,I wanted to thank you for taking me on my first trip to Disneyland. I must admit, I wasn't too sure about our trip initially. I mean, being stuck in my car seat, for what seemed like a whole day, was frustrating at times. But it was okay, because I was with you. And things are always better when I'm with you.You kept saying we were going on a road trip and that the next day was going to be a big day. Boy were you right. When I woke up in the morning and you said, "Liam, we're going to Disneyland!!!" I knew it was something to get excited about, mostly by how excited you were when you told me. Truthfully, I didn't know what Disneyland was, but I knew it had to be great because all my favorite movies are Disney movies. So a "land" full of Disney movies has to be great!Here's a picture of you and me Mommy, when we were waiting for the bus to come. I was excited because I've never been on a bus before. I've only seen them in my picture books. I like to make funny poses huh Mommy.Once we got inside Disneyland, everything was sooo big! Hey look, I didn't even know I was sitting on Mickey ears!My favorite part of Disneyland so far was the map. It was so cool. I wanted to go straight to the Brown Mountain.There's Mommy... and Daddy... and Liam!My first ride was the Carousel. I've been on carousel's before, so I was excited to go on one again. I was glad we got the red one. My favorite is waving to Mommy every time we pass her by.Next we went on the Dumbo ride! So far the Dumbo ride was my favorite part of Disneyland. Once we went on Dumbo, I knew Disneyland was going to be a great place. I've been on carousel's before but I've never been on a ride like Dumbo! We flew all the way up in the air! We were so high I couldn't even see Mommy anymore.Then you said we were going to meet Mickey Mouse. When I watch Mickey Mouse in the morning, I never thought it would be possible to ever meet him. I thought he only lived in the TV. But then, all of a sudden, we were in front of Mickey's house! We got to go inside and I got to see where Mickey sits......and where Pluto sleeps......and we also got to go inside Mickey's barn where he makes his movies so I can see him on TV.Look Daddy, it's the drawings you liked so much!We kept getting closer and closer to meeting Mickey. I was so excited, but kinda nervous, but not really scared but just a little. I want yogurt. I mean - May I have some yogurt please?Mommy, Daddy, remember - then they opened the door and said "Here's Mickey!" It was like a dream. Mickey was so much bigger than I expected. I was so happy, but kind of in shock. I didn't know what to say to him. It was such a blur, I hope I didn't say something embarrassing.Liam - Daddy - Mickey - and Mommy! So far, meeting Mickey is my favorite part of Disneyland.After meeting Mickey, I didn't think the day could get any better. I was probably right, but it sure did get interesting! Remember Daddy, you took me on my first roller coaster! It was sooooo fast... and SCARY! This picture's kind of hard to see my face...... see, look! I guess that's my "scared" face. Remember Daddy, you asked me if it was fun, and I said, "No, it's SCARY!" Eventhough it was really scary, and loud, and fast, it was okay because I was with you. And you never let go of me, so I knew I was safe and wouldn't fly out of my seat.Next we went on Buzz Lightyear! Remember Mommy, you took me on Buzz Lightyear, and we got to shoot guns! I know you don't like guns, but these were okay because we were helping Buzz.I had so much fun on Buzz Lightyear. So far, Buzz Lightyear was my favorite part of Disneyland......wait — maybe Mickey Mouse was still my favorite part of Disneyland?No, I definitely think Buzz Lightyear was my favorite part of Disneyland so far. Thank you Mommy for taking me on Buzz Lightyear.I did so good. I was a Level 2 Space Ace!!After such a big morning, I was so tired. I thought that must be my whole day at Disneyland. I couldn't imagine even more things to see. We did so much and we didn't even eat lunch yet! That was a good nap. BB-8!!!!When I woke up we were in CARSLAND!!!! I got to see Lightning McQueen!! I think meeting Lightning McQueen was my favorite part of Disneyland - oh wait... this is California Adventure. Buzz Lightyear is probably my favorite part of Disneyland and Lightning McQueen is my favorite part of California Adventure. Or maybe chocolate milk is my favorite part of California Adventure.Remember Daddy, after Lightning McQueen, you took me to see Mater. We got to ride in his tractor and it was so much fun.Maybe Mater was my favorite part of California Adventure so far.Daddy - Liam - and Mommy! This was on the Chew Chew train. It wasn't as fun as the other things, but it was slow and relaxing. And I liked it because we all got to ride it together.After that, when I couldn't imagine the day getting any better, I got to meet Crush from Finding Nemo! He was so funny. He talked to some of the kids that were sitting with us. Even Marlin and Dory stopped by to say hello. Dory is my favorite and I never thought I'd be able to meet her and talk to her, or Crush! I love watching them in their movie but never thought I'd be meeting them. Thank you Mommy and Daddy! I think Crush was maybe my favorite part of California Adventure so far.Oh yeah! I almost forgot about drawing with you. Remember they taught us how to draw Baymax! I thought I drew his head pretty good, but then I just wanted to make my own drawing after that. It was fun and pretty cool. I like it when I get to draw with you Daddy. Yours was good, but I think Mommy's was better:)Look Daddy! It's us with our 3D glasses! We watched a movie about me! I was running through a forest and then my pet Dragon started to play with me. We played hide and seek and flew high in the air! I could even feel the wind and the water spray on us as we watched! It was fun. A little scary. Maybe the dragon movie was my favorite thing I watched in California Adventure.After watching the dragon we met Officer Hops and Nick from Zootopia. I'd rather not talk about that. It was definitely not my favorite part of the trip:(Thank you Mommy and Daddy for making me feel better after the Zootopia fiasco. You took me to watch Star Wars! It was a little scary and very loud, but sooooo cool! I saw Han Solo and Chewbacca and Yoda and Luke Skywalker and Jedi's and and and and and... it was coooooool.I even got to "pew pew" a Stormtrooper!When we came out of Star Wars it was dark already and I was so tired. But you took me to the big Mickey Mouse ride to watch the water show.I had fun waiting for the water to come out because I got to be silly with you, Mommy and Daddy.I had so much fun during my day at Disneyland. You were right, it was a BIG day! Maybe it was the best day of my life so far. But maybe my favorite part of the day was falling asleep with you Mommy... As my eyes slowly closed, I could still hear the music of the water show. As I fell asleep I could imagine myself flying with Peter Pan, and playing with Mickey Mouse, and swimming with Nemo. As I started to dream I dreamed about a magical place where dreams come true. My favorite place and my favorite day and my favorite moment of that favorite day. I will remember it for the rest of my life... or at least until I turn 3.Thank you Mommy and Daddy. I love you,Liam
