EMCEE LIAM TUTORIAL
For anybody interested in how 15 Days of Liam was done, or any proud parents that want to try for themselves, I thought I'd post a quick "how to" tutorial. All you need is a camera, paper and pen/pencil, some kind of editing software (ie Photoshop) and your imagination.First things first, we placed Liam on a mattress. You could use anything that's white (butcher paper, bed sheet etc.). Next we just started taking pictures. We tried playing with him a little bit to get him to move around quite a bit so we'd have different poses to choose from.
We probably took over 200 pictures and maybe out of those 200, 20 came out good enough to use. Once we had an image we wanted to use I just imported it into Photoshop, cleaned it up an bit and cropped it to where we wanted it.
Next it was time to draw the particular scene to match up with that photo. Just a quick doodle will do.
After the drawing was finished, I scanned it, imported it into Photoshop and placed it on a new layer on top of the photo layer.Once you move the drawing into the right position, I just erased it in a few small places such as where the mic overlaps with his hand, to make it look like he's actually holding the microphone.
Lastly, I just changed the transparency of the drawing layer so that the photo layer underneath shows through. And there you have it: Emcee Liam!
Never ever grow up!- Dru
