JUXTAPOSITION

Being a parent is amazing. It is also tough. Sometimes I become envious of friends or random people I see on social media that post wonderful pictures and videos of their children doing or saying something adorable or just plain pleasant. It makes me wonder if parenting is ever hard for them. Do they ever yell at their kids or have a hard time disciplining them? Do their kids ever do something so terrible or frustrating it makes them think that procreation is just a horrible inside joke on humanity? Then I think, of course these fairytales of an Insta story don't, in fact, tell the whole story. Of course they have hard times, but who wants to post that for the world to see.Sometimes I've thought about creating an Instagram account just showing the bad things my kids do. It would be a place other parents could go to, to feel better about themselves and their hardships as a parent. But then I think, that's not really fair to my kids. To only show them in a negative light, also does not tell the whole story.
