Quarantine Fun

For anyone that has small children at home during this shelter in place, you know it’s hard to keep them entertained. Shoot, it’s hard to keep myself entertained every day. Days that just melt into one another until you can’t remember what day it is in the first place. Last week I woke up and started my day like any other day — feed kids breakfast; make myself something to eat; sit down at the computer and start my work day. About 30 minutes later, I realized it was Saturday.

No one wants to be stuck inside and this pandemic is absolutely terrible. However, there is a silver lining. I’ll never have time like this with my kids ever again, and even though by the end of every day, I’m ready to run through a wall (not in the way people describe someone super motivated, but in the way I’d describe someone that wants to knock themselves unconscious to escape their current reality), there have been days full of amazing moments I will cherish for the rest of my life. I think when I’m old and look back at this time in our life, I won’t remember the fear, stress, and anxiety, but what will stick out is the wonderful memories and fun I had with my wife and kids.

So going back to attempting to keep my kids entertained, here’s just a few of the many things we’ve done to pass the time while stuck inside.

Many, many games of one on one as well as perfecting our trick shots:

Who needs a bowling alley when you’ve got BRICKS!:

If you know my son Liam, you know his love for a good home made marble run. This was a fun project (not shown: all the frustration, trial runs, tears, yelling, and throwing of objects — Liam had some rough moments too):

Stay safe, stay healthy and stay positive.

Never ever grow up!
